IELTS, International English Language Testing System, is a highly popular general English exam with more than 1.4 million tests taken so far. The exam is organized by three well-known international institutions: the British Council, IDP (IELTS Australia) and University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL).
It is possible to choose the academic version (for students) or the general version (to work or live abroad) of the test.
IELTS test procedure
- Both versions consist of four parts: listening, reading, writing and speaking. The results are rated on a unique IELTS scale.
- The listening and speaking parts are identical for all candidates, while reading and writing differ according to the version.
- The listening, reading and writing parts must be taken during the same day, while the oral test may be taken at a different time.
The IELTS preparation course
